Our News

As discussions between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) have been paused with the current collective agreements set to expire next week, a strike could begin as early as May 22.  The Trustees’ Office is closely monitoring the situation and preparing in the event of a Canada Post service disruption.  The following alternative solutions will be put in place if a formal strike is declared:

• For members with email addresses on file, the UAPP Administration Centre will send out all options packages (retirements, terminations, marriage breakdown calculations, and others) via secured email.  Members can also return their election options by responding through the secured email or fax the documents to the UAPP Administration Centre at 1 (905) 234-1512.  For this reason, we encourage employers and members to provide their email addresses to the UAPP Administration Centre or to the Trustees’ Office.

• On rare occasions where a member has no email address, a courier service will be used.

• Terminated members due to receive cash refunds are encouraged to submit direct deposit information.
